<p>The vertical water boiler (1) with a burner (2) directing a flame (6) horizontally through it, has a horizontal combustion chamber formed by a steel tube (2) passing through it. The flame enters an inner tube (16) to pass around a heat exchanger (7) which is dumb-bell shaped in cross section, and the combustion gases are discharged through a tube (4) projecting the other side the heat exchanger is a casting. The bottom water inlet opening (11) has a collar (17) with a steel ring (33) embedded in it, forming a heat resistant joint. A similar ring is embedded in the top discharge opening (12). The joint is strengthened by making the outside of the ring ribbed or serrated. The enlarged regions (9) carry a ring of alternately large and small radial fins (21, 22).</p> |
