PURPOSE:To provide an effective desulfurization agent by controlling CaCN2 thermal decomposition or sublimation, a specific amount of CaCN2 is added to CaC2 discharged from electric furnace and flowing in the spout or contained in the ladle, and after melting together, both are solidified. CONSTITUTION:Into CaC2 discharged from electric furnace and flowing through the spout or contained in the ladle, CaCN2 is added in amount of 0.5 to 31 parts by weight per 100 parts of CaC2, and after melting together, both are solidified. The process controls thermal decompositon or sublimation of CaCN2 contained in desulfurization agent, and reduces its loss. Thus, CaCN2 having desulfurization ability nearly equal to that of CaC2 effectively contributes to reaction. Further, CaCN2 permits CaC2 to lower its melting point, thereby accelerating desulfurization reaction. |
