The plastics-coated surface of the profile has at least 1 undercut edge, and the profile has, near the undercut edge, >=1 groove running along the edge, widening towards the bottom, or a rib along the undercut edge, with a broadened head. The plastics fills the groove, or the rib extends into the plastics coating. The design ensures positive fit of the components of a door or window even if shrinkage of the plastics coatings occurs.
