The actuating rope with slack rope preventing system is used for a roller shutter type gate. The electric motor driven drum carries the door actuating rope. The system includes actuators for disconnecting the electric motor. The slack rope protection arrangement does not require readjustment and its responds directly and immediately. The door suspension system (11) has a guiding slot (18, 19) in which slides a block (20). The rope end is connected to this sliding block. The actuating element is a swivelling lever (24) held on the sliding block (20). The switch (27) is arranged on the swivelling lever side facing away from the sliding block.
