The feed mechanism is for a continuous strip of forms passed through a typewriter. It has a guide rail in a housing at right angles to the feed direction. Two or more traction units, driven by a polygonal shaft, slide on the rail, so as to guide the top and bottom run round the platen roller. The shaft works in plates on both sides of the housing and slides parallel to the feed direction. Each plate is attached to a lever turned by a common transmission shaft working in bearings in the housing. The traction units slide on the rail in the feed direction and are locked on to it.
