The coupling aid for the tractor has the towing hook mounted on a bar which is itself linked to a second bar by a vertical pivot and with the second bar similarly pivotted on the rear of the tractor with its other end. The whole system folds flat against the rear of the tractor where it is secured by strong catches. The system is extended to couple to a trailer and the tractor backed towards the trailer to cause the aid to fold flat. No manual effort is required for a rapid and accurate towing connection. The bars assume angles less than 90 deg. to each other so that strain on the pivots is minimised.
