The tool is attached to the spindle of a riveting machine by its drive element (2), provided with an eccentric disc (2a) on the peripheral surface of which a riveting ram holder (1) is fitted. The holder is radially movable but is prevented from rotation by an arm (13) resting against a stationary stop (14). The riveting ram holder carries a plate (4) in which riveting rams (3) and guide rams (8) are fitted slidingly in bushes. The plate is mounted on the drive element in an inclined position. The ends of the rams are spherical and are seated in sockets of the pressure plate (6). When the drive element is rotated the eccentric plate (2a) produces a tumbling movement of the ram holder and at the same time the pressure plate produces reciprocating movements of the rams.
