The portable motorised pump comprises a housing (8, 11) contg. the drive motor (1), a centrifugal pump impeller (4) carried at the end of the motor shaft (2) an inlet chamber (10) and an outlet chamber (14). The chamber is arranged between the motor and the impeller and surrounds the shaft whilst the chamber (14) is arranged at the housing front end away from the motor. The entire housing, including the outlet chamber wall (13) may be of plastics. The inlet line may be connectable to a tubular element which forms a carrying handle on the housing portion contg. the inlet chamber.
