High-voltage insulator is composed of an insulating material and an additive to give a pre-determined conductivity over its entire cross-section. The insulating material is reactive resin and it contains a filler e.g. quartz fluor, and 5-70, pref. 64% based on total wt., SiC evenly distributed throughout. The SiC is present as granulate, particle size 7. The prod. has desired, well defined conductivity without impairing mechanical strength.
