1529991 Frequency discriminator SONY CORP 6 Jan 1976 [16 Jan 1975] 00325/76 Heading H3A A frequency discriminator with separate control of the centre frequency and linearity comprises an input circuit 2-5, a double tuned circuit 6 including a first tuned circuit 7 consisting of a capacitor 10, a variable inductance 22 electrically connected to but magnetically shielded from a primary winding of a transformer 9, a second tuned circuit 8 consisting of the secondary winding 9b, variable inductances 23, 24 magnetically shielded from 9 and a capacitor 13, the Q of circuit 8 being larger than that of 7 and an arrangement 11,12 for adding the discriminator input signal with two signals of opposite polarity developed at the ends of the second tuned circuit and an amplitude detecting circuit responsive to the added signals to provide the demodulated output. The centre frequency can be adjusted by adjusting the second and third variable inductance elements 23, 24. The linearity of the response characteristic can be adjusted separately by element 22. |
