The floppy disc is in a protective envelope. The clamping and centring element (4, 5, 20) consists of a radially expanding ring (4) and spring (5), uniformly divided by slots, so that they form regularly distributed springy arms. They face and interact with each other in pairs. The arms of the ring (4) have clamping (3) and centring (2) surfaces. The ring (4) is widened by an axial force applied to the spring (5). This prevents the falling of the clamping and centring surfaces (3, 2) from the driving spindle (10).
