One half of a table tennis table is swivelled from a horizontal playing position into a vertical rest position with a base beam located in the centre transverse below the table surface plate. The base beam is equipped with running rollers and there is a swivel frame coordinated with each surface plate half and providing a link connection between base beam and one plate half. A support link (8) coordinated with the swivel frame (4) is positioned between base beam and plate half (3) so that it crosses with the swivel frame and its lower link point (9) lies in a horizontal plane with the lower link point (5) of the swivel frame. The upper link points (6, 10) are located close to and parallel with the plate half.
