PURPOSE:To make it possible to detect the direction of a horizontal polarization signal over the entire circumference direction by using a horizontal polarizing antenna composed of horizontal polarization cross dipoles. CONSTITUTION:Assuming that a radio wave would arrive nearly from direction E, discriminator 21 when switching driver 21 selects a dipole parallel to the N-S line makes a decision on a larger amplitude than that of a dipole parallel to the EW line and stop the selection in this state. In this state, the Doppler direction detection system operates to know the accurate arrival aximuth. When the signal source is in a direction close to N or S, the amplitude is larger than that of E-W-directional dipole, so that switching driver 22 will stop the selection with dipole signal E in the E-W direction selected. In this way, the direction of a horizontal polarized-wave signal can be detected over the entire circumference direction. |
