<p>compounds are disclosed having blood pressure lowering activity which are of the general formula I: (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof wherein R1 is hydrogen, an alkyl group containing 1 to carbon atoms which may be substituted with a hydroxyl group or a cyclopropylmethyl group; R2 is hydrogen or an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms; or-NR1R2 together represent a radical selected from pyrrolidino, piperidino, morpholino, piperazino, hexamethyleneamino, N-phenylpiperazino, heptamethyleneamino and hexamethylenetetramine wherein each of these heterocyclic groups may be substituted with 1 or 2 methyl groups; R3 is hydrogen, a nitro or amino group or amino group substituted by a lower alkyl or a lower alkanoyl group; R4 is hydrogen; or R3 together with R4 form a CH=CH-CH=CH system; and R5 and R6 are each an alkyl group containing 1 to 6 carbon atoms.</p> |
