PURPOSE:To improve the measurement precision for the percentage of water of providing a ledge appearing intermittently under a light transmissive window in a flow-down tank and then by exposing only a thin and stationary grain layer, appearing at the window, to infrared rays for the measurement of the percentage of water. CONSTITUTION:At the bottom of tank 1, exhaust valves 2 are provided and hot blast furnace 3 supplies a hot blast from blast intake 4 and discharges it from blast outlet 5. Dried grains are returned by exhaust valves 2 to tank 1 via grain elevator 6 and at every time, grains with the percentage of water reduced are supplied to tank 1. Then, only a samll amount of grains staying on ledge 8 are irradiated with infrared rays from infraredray water meter 9 via light transmissive window 7 and the measurement of water is attained by using the reflected rays. After the measurement, ledge 8 is lowered to flow grains down and those operations mentioned above are repeated to display automatically the percentage of water in grains constantly, so that the precision of the percentage measurement can be improved. |
