PURPOSE:To obtain the optical transmission wire which has stretching functions and has less possibility for disconnection or the like by subsequently applyilg synthetic high polymer material, cushion material and further armor of high polymer material on the outside of an optical fiber and winding this to coil form. CONSTITUTION:A thin covering layer of silicone resin is formed on the outside of the glass strand G composed of core glass 1 and covering glass layer 2 of a low refractive index to provide protection of the strand G. Cushlon material 4 by soft fibrous material, fomaed resin or high viscosity liquid is applied on the outside thereof to protect the strand G against stretching, winding and twisting forces. An armor 5 is formed of a thin film such as of synthetic resins, rubber or the like to so constitute the cable that its entire part is protected. The center of the optical cable is formed by a central body 6 of elastic material and the strand G which is applied with protection covering around this body as a core is spirally wound to have the constitution applied with the cushion material 4a and armor 5. such constitution is wound in coil form, whereby the optical transmission wire having stretchling functions and having less possiblity for disconnection may be obtained. |
