PURPOSE:To perform continuous hot rolling and improve efficiency by connecting the leading end of the succeeding slab to the trailing end of a slab by means of clamps. CONSTITUTION:The preceding slab 1 and succeeding slab 1' are arrayed in series on the same centerline at the same level on a table 2. Next, the trailing end face 3 of the preceding slab 1 and the leading end face 3' of the succeeding slab are butted together. Thence, clamp-form connecting fittings 6, 6 are driven between the side faces 4, 5 and side faces 4', 5' of both slabs 1, 1' by driving machines 9 or the like which are operated by hydraulic cylinders. By butting together and connecting the plural slabs in this way, they are continuously hot rolled. |
