PURPOSE:To make it possible to promptly and accurately meter the concentration of O3 dissolved in a solution by determining the output signal difference between an O2 detector, which is formed with an O2 permeable film and an O3 decomposing film, and a compensating O2 detector which is formed with an O2 permeable film. CONSTITUTION:An O2 permeable film 8 such as a fluorine-contained resin is attached to the leading end of a cylindrical holder 5 through an O-ring 6. An O3 decomposing film 11, which is composed of activated charcoal or a transient metal (or its oxide) such as Ni, is brought into close contact with the outer side of the film 8 through an open cap 9 and an O-ring 10, thus constituting an O2 detector 1 together with an electrolyte 7, an O2 reducing polar 12 and an opposite polar 13. A compensating O2 detector 2 is constituted in a similar manner to the detector 1 except the provision of the film 11. If at least the leading end of the detectors 1 and 2 is dipped in a solution to be measured, there is generated in the detector 1 a current which is based upon the sum of the O2 in the solution and the O2 coming from the decomposition of the O3, whereas there is generated in the detector 2 a current which is based only upon the O2 in the solution. As a result, only the quantity of O3 is indicated in an indicator 4 by an arithmetic circuit 3. |
