PURPOSE:To prepare the title enzyme having improved pharmocological and physiological actions on various diseases, by using a medium comprising a specific compound according to the culture method. CONSTITUTION:Strains of bacteria producing coenzyme Q which belong to the genus Pseudomonas are cultured in a medium comprising a compound alone or in combination selected from isopentenyl acetate, prenol, prenyl acetate, geranyl acetate, and beta-methyl-crotonic acid to give the coenzyme Q of formula I: (n is an integer 8-10), which is collected. In the case of coenzyme Q8 (n=8), bacteria Pseudomonas olevorans I AM-1510 are used. In the case of coenzymes Q9 and Q10, bacteria Pseudomonas diminuta I AM-1508 and 1513 are used. |
