Pole attachment for manipulation of overhead cable junctions - has sprung piston engaging connector ring with centralisation ensured by ball trapped between concave faces

The attachment is for the end of a long demountable or telescopic pole allowing manoeuvring and connection of junctions to overhead live poer lines. The attachment consists of a pref. light alloy tube (1) partially closed off at its upper end. This end houses a recessed piston (2) which can engage with the positioning ring (4/1) of the connector being manipulated. The piston back face has a helical spring (2/7) carrying a dished disc (2/6) which in turn faces a second such surface (2/4) on a blind sleeve (2/2) fitted within the alloy tube (1), a ball (2/5) being trapped between them. The partially closed off end is cut-away (1/5) to allow the ring to enter the piston recess in one plane and to be trapped there in the second plane, the change of position being by downward pressure on the spring.
