<p>A binder consisting of organofunctional silanes dissolved in SiO2- or mica soln., and contg. a dispersed heat-stable plastic, (I), is used in a non-inflammable coating compsn. consisting of an inorganic Si-contg. filler and a binder. Compsn. use for coating electric resistors is claimed. The compsn. (i) resist organic solvents, temps. up to 300 degrees C, cracking on storage at 300 degrees C or by temp. changes; (ii) are dried quickly and can be applied in thicker layers, e.g. up to 300 mu; (ii) dry quickly and resist moisture. The binder may be an epoxy-, glycidoxy-, methacrylic- or vinyl silane. The plastics, (I), are esp. silicone-modified polyesterS, polyphenylene sulphides, polyimides and/or a mixed condensate of silicone resin and epoxy resin. A flow control agent may be added to the filler- and binder-contg. soln. Powdered porcelain and/or mica fillers may be pigmented with an oxide of Fe, Cr, Ti and Mn.</p> |
