Shuttleless loom selvedge formation - by securing each pick between the turns of two intertwined binding threads

A selvedge-forming device for a shuttleless loom comprising a first unit for twisting together two binding threads after the insertion between them of one end of the weft, and a second unit at the other edge of the fabric for similarly twisting together two binding threads between which the second end of the weft has been laid. The units are so arranged that the two binding threads in each selvedge unit are all twisted together in the same direction. The arrangement produces similarly firm edges at both side of a fabric, with no tendency to rupture due to the extraction of all twist from a binding threads during selvedge formation.
