<p>PURPOSE:To prepare an aromatic polyamide composition useful as textile fibers and having practically improved dyeability and excellent heat resistance while maintaining the characteristics of aromatic polyamide, by blending poly-m-phenylene isophthalamide with a xylylenediamine-type polyamide. CONSTITUTION:(A)95-50 wt.% of poly-m-phenylene isophthalamide is mixed with (B)5-50 wt.%, preferably 10-20 wt.% of a polyamide comprising (a)an amine component consisting of 35-100, preferably 75-100 mole % of a xylylenediamine, preferably m-xylylenediamine, etc., and 65-0 mole % of an aromatic diamine, preferably phenylenediamine, etc., and (b)an acid component consisting of an aromatic dicarboxylic acid, preferably terephthalic acid, etc.. A desired amount of the polymer is preferably dissolved in a basic amide solvent capable of dissolving the polymer to give dope, from which products in the form of fiber, film or hydrid, etc. are obtained.</p> |
