A casting for aquarium filters consists of a base plate with an inlet which fits over a delivery duct from a centrifugal pump, and an outlet which fits over a duct leading to the aquarium contents. A cover plate fits over the base and carries the central filter element. Its periphery has holes which lead to an annular space. The latter communicates with the outlet in the base plate. Such filters can be arranged in several small units together with the pump just above water level. They do not impede the clear view through the aquarium like submerged units, and do not have leakage risks like separate remote units.
|
