<p>Multistage, compartmented, decanting installation for the clarification of aq. suspension partic. surface water, borehole water etc. is of the type comprising a tank contg. lamellar flow plates inclined to the horizontal at is approx. 55 degrees. Improvement is that the appts. comprises a number of modular sets of lamellar flow plates, each set mounted in the framework of a metal trolley. Each trolley can be rolled in and out of a corridor in the tank. The corridor has support and guide rails engaging rollers underneath and above the trolley. The trolley has removable flow deflector plates upstream and downstream of the set of plates. Each corridor provides side spaces for lateral flow through the plates and an area beneath the trolley for collection and removal of sludge. Structural members of the trolley frame are pref. slotted to accept the edges of lamellar flow plates and retain them spaced and at the desired angle. In each corridor, the trolley pref. runs on concrete rails topped with plastic wear strips. Used for clarifying borehole water etc. for use as drinking water. Highly efficient clarification is achieved. Modular construction makes the installation easily adaptable to a wide range of duties. Removable modules facilitate cleaning and maintenance.</p> |
