摘要 <p>The plants include foundries, steelworks and smelting works. The mouldings include tubes, etc. and are joined together via an adhesive applied to their joint surfaces. A heated organic adhesive is pref. employed and applied to one of the joint surfaces via a spray gun, followed by pressing the mouldings together. The joint surfaces pref. consist of a mating tongue and groove, or alternatively, a plain butt joint, and adhesive pref. contains sinterable inorganic materials, esp. >90 wt.% of silica flour, chamotte flour, feldspar flour, bonding clay or borax. Tubular mouldings are pref. bonded together to make a complete ingate and runner system which is then inserted in a moulding box; and the inlet and/or outlet is pref. covered by a consumable plastic foil to exclude dust. A reliable joint can be made, even on thin walled tubes where the wall thickness does not permit the use of a tongue and groove joint.</p>
