<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate troubles due to the uneven thickness of envelopes in an envelope transfer device utilized in an electronic photographic copying machine or the like by opening automatically the lid of the envelope with a suction roller on a transfer path in front of an image fixing section. CONSTITUTION:A suction roller 21a contacting the surface of folded-back lid of an envelope passing is provided in front of a fixer 10 on a transfer path through which the envelopes are transferred successively to a transfer changer 9 and fixer 10, and a means for properly operating a suction fan connected to the roller 21a during the operation on the transfer path is provided. When the envelopes are successively transferred to form an image on the one surface with the folded-back side of lid being directed rearward, the suction roller 21a contacts the folded-back surface of lid of the envelope. On the other hand, the suction roller 21a exerts a suction action to the passing envelope to open the closing lid tending to separate it from the envelope. The opened lid can be kept opened by a transfer guide action on the transfer path to pass by a fixing path 10.</p> |
