The wind-driven rotor rotates about a vertical axis (1) and comprises a number of blades (2, 3) arranged to be in a vertical plane when moving with the wind and to rotate about a horizontal axis (14) to be in a horizontal plane when moving against the wind. Adjacent blades (2, 3) are linked (18, 16; 19, 17) via a coupling wheel (15) whilst each blade (2) is provided with a lever (8) carrying a roller (4) which runs in a track (5) on the adjacent blade (3). The end of this track acts as a stop to prevent the blade from turning beyond the horizontal plane. This roller arrangement ensures that the change of position from vertical to horizontal takes place without generating noise.
|
