<p>Combined (deep-)drawing and punching tool, made e.g. of Al, is used for mfr. of mouldings from sheet material such as plastics-impregnated fleece. It comprises a male and a female mould between which the intended mouldings are shaped with application of heat and pressure, and of which one component is fitted with punches whose cutting edges cooperate with the other component. The punching tool is divided in to several sections perpendicularly to its cutting edge. These divisions allow to compensate for thermal expansion differentials when one part of the tool is made of e.g. Al, and the other of e.g. steel, thus minimising any loss of dimensional accuracy of the resulting moulding.</p> |
