Automatic focussing control for camera - is combined with auto-zoom facility for simultaneous focal length control

The still or cine camera is fitted with an automatic focusing control which is linked to a zoom control for changing the focal length. The user merely presses the shutter release and the camera is able to cope with fast moving scenes and the user can select the section of the scene which is of interest. The automatic focus control is operated by control pulses fed to a digital control circuit. The digital setting changes are readily converted into focal length values.
