The grain head lifting levers are secured to the cutting mechanism of a harvester by a system provided at the end of a plane support plate (1). A retaining stirrup (2) is provided on the support plate surrounding the cutting bar (5). The stirrup has two arms (3, 4) which are disposed on either side of the cutting bar. A stop mechanism comprises pairs of aligned holes (9) at different distances from the plate (1) passing through the arms of the stirrup and a pin (8) which passes through a pair of registering holes, above the cutter bar. The pin is retained by a spring clip (11).
