Mechanical stripper crane drive - has motors connected simultaneously via sun-wheel and transmission drive respectively to planetary gears for rapid movement

The mechanical stripper steel works crane drive has motor and planetary gear drive placed on a spring supported plate. The crane ram travels fast while not carrying a load and it travels slowly with load. One motor (1) is connected by a brake (6, 7) to the sun wheel (8) of the planetary gear drive. The other motor (2) is connected by a transmission drive (11) and by a brake (13, 14) to the toothed rim (9) of the planetary gear drive. Both motors (1, 2) have approx. equal ratings and for rapid travel both motors are connected simultaneously. One of the motors (1, 2) can be connected and disconnected in relation to the load.
