Plastics granulate or liq. materials are mixed continuously by removing part of the finished end prod. at the discharge point for recirculation with the supplied starting material. Starting material cannot be discharged in an unchanged state as it is subjected to preliminary mixing at the inlet to mixer. Specifically the mixer has a feed hopper which terminates in a frusto-conical portion disposed within a frusto-conical portion arranged for reception of the recirculated portion of the end prod. Portion of the end prod. is recirculated by an adjustable guide device disposed at the outlet of the mixer.
