Prodn. of mouse immunoglobulin-E antibodies - by generating and growing an immunoglobulin-E producing hybrid cell line

Prodn. of mouse IgE antibodies is carried out by (a) generating an IgE-producing hybrid cell line (specifically the new IgE-14-205 cell line) in known manner, and (b) isolating the IgE antibody after growth of the cells. The IgE antibody obtd. from the IgE-14-205 cell line is a well-defined substance with reproducible allergen-specificity w.r.t. ovalbumin. It is free of other types of antibody and can be produced in large amt., making it useful for generating standardised allergic reactions for testing antiallergic agents.
