The filtering coupler has two electromechanical filters with different passbands and bandwidths. The two filters share the same input transducer and each has its own output transducer. The transducers are mechanical resonators with electrostrictive active transducer elements. - The electromechanical coupling factor of the input transducer's bandwidths the same as that of the filter with the larger bandwidth. The smaller-bandwith filter is weakly coupled to the input transducer such that the broadband characteristics of the broad band filter are preserved.
