PURPOSE:To prevent a breaking of wire, by cooling a conductive wire by the use of a treating liquid for discharge processing use. CONSTITUTION:In a wire cut discharge processing device, a wire breakage-proof device 35 is located at a place where a wire breakage is apt to occur, i.e., at a middle part of an electric contact element 19 and a wire guide element 17a. The device 35 comprises a metal member 35a fitted at a fixing plate 57 of the wire guide element 17, and the member 35a is located facing and opposite to a wire 10 with a minor space provided between the member 35a and the wire. A part of treating liquid, which is poured from a treating liquid nozzle 21 into a discharge processing gap between an object 15 to be processed and the conductive wire 10, is received at the member 35a, where a water film is produced. The wire 10 can thus be always cooled by the water film. |
