Extension arm, especially for handling devices

An extension arm (2) for a handling device consists of more than three links (3-7) articulatedly connected to one another to form a link chain. The links can perform pivoting movements relative to one another in order to move the extension arm from an extended to a more or less arcuate form. To change the form of the extension arm (2) a single drive element (25) is used, by means of which a movement is imparted from a base body (1) to the extension arm (2). The movement imparted to the first link (3) of the link chain is transmitted to the remaining links by means of actuating elements (8-11), the actuating elements being arranged such that they couple the base body (1) and the individual links (3-7) to the next member but one respectively. <IMAGE>
