The cylinder lock possesses blocking members (15) which are arranged displaceably in the cylinder (1) and which, with the key (3) withdrawn, are pushed with one end into depressions (10) on the lock case (5) by means of spring force (20) and thus retain the cylinder (1) non-rotatably. When the key (3) is inserted, the ends (18) are retracted in the cylinder (1). When the key (3) is withdrawn, the blocking members (15) slide over projections on the key (3) which seek to push the other ends (17) of the blocking members (15) out of the cylinder (1). A withdrawal of the key (3) is therefore possible only when the other ends (17) can be pushed into further depressions (10) of the lock case. By means of filling pieces (14) in the further depressions (10), these can be blocked, if appropriate, so that the key (3) cannot be withdrawn. <IMAGE>
