PURPOSE:To prevent occurrence of tarry insoluble matter and to eliminate foaming tendency in preparation of a developing solution, by adding a surfactant and an antifoamer to a color developer composition consisting of a plurality of components. CONSTITUTION:Color developers for color photography are divided into a few parts and dissolved in a fixed order in preparing the developing solution. In a type of the order of a penetrant, a preservatives; a color developing agent; an alkali agent, etc., a surfactant is added to one of the former three, and an antifoamer is added to the alkali agent, or the surfactant is added to one of the former two, and the antifoamer is added to the color developing agent. As surfactant, an anion type, such as alkyl sulfonate, and an amphoteric type, such as carboxylic type are suitable, and as antifoamer, an agent having high diffusibility in water, such as a silicon compound, or polyalkyleneglycol is useful. Such a developing solution prevents staining of images and rollers due to tarry matter, and troubles due to foaming. |
