The invention relates to a support-foot adjusting means for machines, comprising a guide profile and a supporting-arm or extension profile guided therein. The two parts are preferably displaced with respect to one another in a horizontal plane, but the features may also be applied to a slanting plane, indeed a vertical plane. The particular advantage in the novelty is that a preferably hydraulic motor engages directly, or indirectly via a reduction gear mechanism and a cylindrical wheel, cylindrical lantern wheel or chain wheel, into a rack, perforated strip or chain on the arm to be displaced, and the drive unit, if appropriate with the supporting roller, forms a displaceable structural unit which can be screw-connected and can be joined to the fixed guide arm or the adjustable supporting arm.
