<p>Reference index cards are arranged alphabetically. They can be accessed rapidly and independently according to a two or three decimal numerical classification. The cards are stored in a magazine and they can pivot by rocking action about an axis (3) and are removed vertically from the file once they have been separated during this operation by a retaining arm (11). Selection is achieved by setting a combination of sliding keys (10) into protruding positions such as to constrain, and subsequently cause the engagement of, the desired card into which slots are cut in positions following the number code.</p> |
