Nuts are fed into the lathe via trough (2) and drop into profiled grooves on the circumference of a disc (4). A feeler (5) corrects position of nuts in the grooves, and a bolt slides the nut into recess (7). A stop lug in front of the face of disc (4) limits the travel of the nut. The nut then is firmly pressed against the sides of the recess by the shorter arm (11) of a two armed lever, while the swinging motion of the longer arm (9) is controlled by cam (10). When the machining process on the nut is finished, the cam releases the nut and the bolt ejects the nut into a collector.
