Hydrofoil surfaces for high performance boat - fit on either side of front of hull and are contoured into hull shape

The modified hull shape for the performance boat has elastic mounted trim flaps (6) set under the front of the hull where some hulls are slightly concave. The flaps lift the front of the hull out of the water at lower speeds to enable it to ride on these and the rear trim flaps. The damping between the trim flaps and the hull consists of simple elastic pads. The craft planes at a lower speed so that a considerable fuel sving is obtained as well as high performance.
