Each drive wheel (1) is fitted with a speed sensor linked to a central electronic control which compares the outputs with a road speed signal and controls the throttle setting to ensure that the signals are brought to the same value. The signals are processed through an amplifier and a comparator circuit. The circuit provides a rapid response to wheel spin. If the two sensors provide different readings, i.e. one wheel spins, then the engine torque is reduced by lowering the reference signal until the speed difference is a minimum.
