PURPOSE:To display different types of font by independently setting up the electrode arrays to set one picture element or more discharge cells between the monitor and display lines and connecting these electrode arrays to those of the monitor and display lines in accordance with the display character information. CONSTITUTION:Between the monitor and display lines 11 and 12 in the meanders type discharge panel consisting of them the electrode groups X11, X21, Y11, and Y21 to constitute two-picture element discharge cell are arranged, as shown in the dotted line block 30. When writing 5X7 dot characters, by setting the movable piece of switch SW to the (a) end, the electrode arrays X11 and X21 contain a part of the display line 12. When writing 7X9 dot characters, by setting the movable piece of switch SW to the (b) end, the separate electrode arrays X11 and X21 are used as a part of the monitor line. |
