With this goods wagon which is equipped on each side with mirror-inverted sliding panels (6), the possibility is provided of using the loading face (1) both in the horizontal and in the vertical direction. Therefore, the panel components also comprise parts of the roof and are displaceable together with them. The sliding panel (6) can be moved against the fixed end-walls (2) of the goods wagon and guided and supported at the bottom on the external longitudinal carriers of the underframe. For upper guidance and support, a single longitudinal upper cord (3) in the transverse centre of the wagon is provided, which cord (3) is integral with the end walls (2) or detachably fastened to them and has an open or box-shaped cross-section. Under this narrow upper cord (3) there is no space which is dead from the point of view of loading technology. It is possible to arrange the longitudinal upper cord (3) laterally instead of in the transverse centre of the wagon, specifically vertically over an outer edge of the underframe. Then, the sliding panel comprises the complete roof on one side whilst on the other side one sliding panel is provided in panel form only. <IMAGE>
