A combined high frequency electrical energy and gas heated cooking apparatus comprises an outer casing 1 having an opening 2 in one side thereof, an openable or removable cover plate 3 for closing said opening 2, a cooking chamber 4 formed within said outer casing 1, a high frequency oscillator 19 for supplying high frequency electric waves to said cooking chamber 4, a gas combustion chamber 6 formed under said cooking chamber 4 and provided with gas burners 27 for supplying gas combustion heat to said cooking chamber 4, and a housing chamber 7 defined by said outer casing 1 and the side walls of said gas combustion chamber 6 and of said cooking chamber 4 to which access can be gained from the outside of said outer casing by the removal of said cover plate 3, a plurality of housing spaces 7a, 7b, being formed in said housing chamber 7, one of said plurality of housing spaces being formed at the lower portion of said housing chamber 7 at the position corresponding to said gas combustion chamber 6. Disposed in said lower housing space 7a is a gas supply unit mainly comprising a gas cock 16, gas supply electromagnetic valves 17a, 17b and gas nozzles 18a, 18b facing towards the gas burners 27. Disposed in one of other housing spaces 7b of said plurality of housing spaces is an electric unit including electric control means 24 and a high voltage transformer 22 for the high frequency oscillator 19.
