PURPOSE:Old tires are combusted in gasifying and secondary combustion chambers, and burnt gas is heat-exchanged to provide hot water, whereby old tire combustion causes no public contamination and generated heat is effectively utilized. CONSTITUTION:Old tires are charged in the gasifying combustion chamber 4 which is fired by solenoid actuated gun burner and combustion is started by fan operation. The bottom of piled tire lacks air to cause thermal decomposition and gas production, which is mixed with upper air and burnt. Smoky dust, though generated only a little, is collected at the bottom of the second combustion chamber 5 and burnt. Burnt gas exchanges heat with water in the pipes 17 of the heat exchanger 16. Hot water is gradually heated while circulating in the warm water bath 31, thus surplus water discharge is unnecessary. Sulfur dioxide gas and zinc oxide gas combine with calcium carbonate and sulfur oxide gas respectively to be removed as burnt ash in the combustion chamber 4,5. |
