Catalyst compsn. for polymerizing alpha olefins is prepared from one of the following compds.: (a) Al-trialkyl or Al-alkyl compd. contg. more than two Al atoms connected through O, N, SO4, or SO3; (b) silicone compd. contg. Si-OR, Si-OCOR, or Si-NR2 where R is a hydrocarbyl; (c) Ti-halide or Ti-haloalcoholate compd. having a solid support of active an-hydrous magnesium dihalide; and (d) a mono- or di-ester of aromatic carboxylic acid in which the R of COOR is a hydrocarbyl contg. less than 3 carbons. |
