In an electric control method and apparatus for an automobile air conditioning system, an air-blend door (7) is arranged between an evaporator (4) and a heater (6) within an air duct (1) to control an amount of the cooled air flowing through the heater (6) into a passenger compartment (8) and to control an amount of the cooled air directly flowing into the compartment (8), and a refrigerant compressor (5) for the evaporator (4) is connected to a prime mover of the automobile when the air-blend door (7) is opened to allow the cooled air flowing through the heater (6) in a limited range and is disconnected from the prime mover when the airbtlend door (7) is further opened to allow the cooled air flowing through the heater (6) beyond the limited range.
